From the desk of Jackie:

For those of you who may have considered going to see the new film The Company You Keep, I’m writing to stop you in your tracks. The previews for this movie may look thrilling and compelling, but that’s likely because the previews give you no sense of the actual plot and its basis in American history. The film disguises itself as featuring forgotten American “heroes” or “patriots” who are forced to live in hiding because they are “misunderstood” or otherwise oppressed by some evil source. To the contrary, the movie is based on the Weather Underground Organization, a radical left group founded in 1969 and active throughout the 1970s with the purpose of overthrowing the United States government. The Weather Underground was made up of young privileged wackjobs who hated America and its core values and sought to destroy this country as we know it. They espoused Communist views and were generally obsessed with all forms of “oppression,” which they typically conjured up in their minds when it didn’t exist (not unlike liberals today). In order to “achieve” their warped goals, a few of the Weather Underground’s most prominent actions included bombing a police precinct (and killing an officer), helping LSD freak Timothy Leary escape from prison, and bombing the Pentagon and U.S. Department of State building.

As a side note, it’s important to point out that two leading members of the Weather Underground movement were Bill Ayers and his wife Bernadine Dohrn. Ayers and Dohrn were also former Chicago neighbors of Barack Obama. Ayers and Obama served on the board of a foundation together. Additionally, Ayers and Dohrn hosted a campaign fundraiser for Obama in their home while Barack’s political career was in its fledgling stages. Talk about the company you keep.

Needless to say, members of the Weather Underground are hardly people who should be glorified or in any way romanticized in popular culture. But, leave it to far left Hollywood to do so. The film features libs Robert Redford, Shia LaBeouf, and (saving the best for last) Susan Sarandon. The last of these three “stars” has, in recent years, participated in the Occupy Wall Street movement and called Pope Benedict XVI a “Nazi.” What a lovely lady. As if Sarandon’s constant idiocy weren’t reason enough to avoid this movie, the content of the film should put you over the edge. If you love America, do not support this film, which condones the heinous acts of radical domestic terrorists.
